Holiday Countdown

Hi guys,

Smells like holiday spirit! One week from now I will be in France and I'm beyond excited. I've been super busy lately, getting everything ready for our trip...doing tons of laundry, ironing (my least favorite activity), making lists, checking on weather  updates, daydreaming of those sweet moments when I'll get away from all the stress and simply relax!

My boyfriend is a very talented photographer (he takes all my outfit pictures and I'm forever grateful). Usually, on our trips, he takes a gazillion pictures, which is a fun yet tiring activity. Soooo, I decided to spare him the burden of my weekly photo-shoots  until we leave for France. This is me, always so supportive and understanding...(let this be our little secret, but it wasn't actually my decision :), he was like: "Outfit pictures or holiday pictures, you choose!" :P). I'll try to work my magic so as to squeeze in one last session before leaving...but we'll see how that goes. I'm hoping that the "very talented photographer" statement above will do the trick! :))

This being said, the final countdown has officially started! Yeeeeey! Overexcited kid!

Manic Monday

Hi guys,

Hope you guys had a decent Monday :)).

I woke up today with this positive feeling and this urge to get to work ...Yeah, right! My urge was so big that I actually turned my alarm off, and woke up half an hour later. Puffy face: checked! Clothes that I'd randomly pull out of the closet : checked! It seemed like the recipe for a perfect day...

I finally got to the tram station. The first tram reached the bus stop. Although it was extremely crowded, I tried to get on. Couldn't! I thought to myself: "If at first you don't succeed...". So I tried again with the second tram...Failure! There were so many people inside one tiny tram, that I seriously felt like taking a photo and send it to those Guinness World Records dudes...

But, since good things come to those who wait, I finally got on the third tram. Now I was officially going to be late for work...Bummer!

By now, you might think this is a sad story, but it actually isn't. I got to work, all upset and frustrated over my public transportation adventure and guess what brightened my day?!? A text message from my 2 co-workers, who enjoy the comfort of their personal car while coming to work every day, saying they were going to be late as they were caught in this crazy traffic jam...Mu ha ha ha! I gently laid back in my chair, put my feet on the desk, relaxed, smelled the fresh coffee in my cup and whispered..."It was all worth it, after all!"

In case you didn't notice, this post was meant to be an ode to public transport. I am grateful it brought me to work a lot earlier than my co-workers. And I am also forever grateful to the packed trams, as there is no space for ticket inspectors to get on. Double win!

I wish you all a perfect week!

Color Me Pretty

Hi guys,

Thank God tomorrow is Thursday and the weekend is rapidly approaching... My week went from bad to worse yesterday, when I was diagnosed with laryngitis! Oh joy! I went to work in the morning feeling a bit under the weather, and by noon I was a walking zombie :))...I was like: Damnit! I'm sick! I was having a terrible headache, I was extremely hoarse, my nose was literally dripping...I was a mess. I went to the doctor's office and he prescribed a billion drugs, so now I'm feeling a little bit better.

Still, I'm not quite my usual self yet, I'm still a bit hoarse (which btw annoys me to death since I usually am very loud and opinionated and I loooove to talk), I have trouble breathing-especially at night and I cough.

You'll have to trust me when I say: I'm not a pleasant sick person! Honestly! So, for the sake of everybody around me, both at work and at home (yeah, boyfriend, I'm talking about you...you should be scared!), let's just hope I'll get better soon.

Hugs,

Mamalina

Red Blue Green

Hi guys,

Between my crazy work-life, rainy days and insanely scary storms, I haven't been able to gear up for any blog related activity. The last two weeks were pretty hectic at work. I usually don't mind being busy, because time goes by much faster at work when you have things to do...but this time it felt like I was on a treadmill. It was extremely tiring. I really have to somehow restore my sanity :).

And to top this, the weather was pretty unstable the last couple of weeks, and so was I. Not to make any excuses, but I am weather-sensitive...So you can only imagine I wasn't in the best of moods :). I'm craving for sunny days and not being tied to my work desk.

So, in order to make sure that next week is off to a better start, I decided to engage in a very nice and fulfilling activity today: cooking. After-all, cooking is a relaxing hobby with a reward at the end, so it can't get any better.  I'm planning to make pasta and baked potatoes, so fingers crossed.

Love,

Mamalina
